Location

Green Leisure Apartments Schweglerstraße are located in the 15th district of Vienna, an uprising and vibrant district, surrounded by restaurants, bars, supermarkets, shops and much more.

The underground line 3, station around the corner, takes you to the center of Vienna (Stephansplatz) or to the longest shopping street in Vienna (Mariahilferstraße) within a few minutes.

The tram line 49, station is just around the corner, takes you comfortably to the ring. It crosses the 7th district of Vienna, where many smaller and larger shops, very good restaurants and bars, the museum quarter and much more worthwhile to discover are situated.

The Wiener Stadthalle or the Schmelz can be reached on foot in approx. 5 minutes, the Westbahnhof and the Neubaugürtel in approx. 10 minutes, the Technical Museum in approx. 15 minutes and the Schönbrunn Palace in approx. 25 minutes.

From the corner of Johnstraße and Märzstraße you have an impressive view of Schönbrunn Palace and the Gloriette.

By plane to Vienna

There are several possibilities how to get from Vienna International Airport to Green Leisure Apartments Schweglerstraße:

 

 

Taking the Airport-Bus

If you leave the arrival hall and you will see the bus stop of “Vienna Airport Lines” Shuttle bus. This bus will leave every half an hour to Vienna Westbahnhof.

At the Westbahnhof change to the underground line U3. Take direction Ottakring and exit at the first stop at Schweglerstraße. The Apartment house is just around the corner of the exit.

The fare for the bus is € 8,00 per Person. A single ticket for the metro cost € 2,20. However, we recommend you, to buy a 24, 48 or 72 hour ticket for the public transport, because you might use the public transport more often during your stay.

Private Shuttle Service

As mentioned above we recommend reserving a private airport pick up in advance, instead of taking a taxi at the airport. Normally a driver will wait for you at the exit to the public area at the arrival terminal with a name plate.

 

The approximate costs for the private shuttle are as follows:

Limousine for up to 3 Persons with luggage € 30.00

Van for 3-4 persons with luggage € 35.00

Minivan for up to 7 persons with luggage € 51.00

taking CAT or the community train

City Airport Train (=CAT)

is a train from the airport to “Wien Mitte” Vienna Centre, that leaves every 30 minutes. A single ticket costs € 12.00 per person, a two way one € 21.00. If you buy a ticket online, the prices will be € 11.00 and € 19.00. The train ride takes approx.16 minutes each way.

At Wien Mitte change to the underground line 3 direction Ottakring and leave the metro at station Schweglerstraße. The apartment house is just around the corner of Spar.

Hint:

On departure day you have the possibility with a CAT ticket to check in your luggage at the CAT station at Wien Mitte and enjoy the rest of your time in Vienna before leaving to the airport to catch you flight.

 

Train S7

Another possibility is to take the community train S7, which goes every half hour and takes approximately 30 minutes to Wien Mitte. At Wien Mitte change to the underground line U3 direction Ottakring and exit it at the stop Schweglerstraße.

The ticket price is € 4,80 per person, but it includes already the metro ticket. However, if you have already purchased online a 24-, 48- or 72-hours ticket for the public transport in Vienna, or the Vienna City Card, you need to by only a ticket for the from the Airport to the city boarder, that costs € 2,40.

Right outside of the arrival terminal you will find a taxi stand. The price to Vienna may vary, due to company, route and traffic.

Consequently, we recommend to not take a taxi there. Instead book a private transfer in advance.

To Vienna by train

As soon as you arrive at one of the train stations in Vienna, you may easily reach Green Leisure Apartments by metro. Please find below the necessary information for traveling from the train station to Green Leisure Apartments.

 

 

From Vienna Main Train Station to the Apartments

At the main train station go to the Underground. Take the line U1 direction Leopoldau for 3 stops until Stephansplatz. At Stephansplatz change to line U3 direction Ottakring. After 6 Stops at Schweglerstraße exit the metro.

Take one of the two exists at the station. The Schweglerstraße is in the middle of the two underground exits. After the exit cross the street and go to the supermarket Spar. The entrance to the apartments is just around the corner of the Spar.

 

From train station Westbahnhof to Green Leisure Apartments

After arriving at Westbahnhof change to metro line U3. Go direction Ottakring and exit at the first stop at Schweglerstrasse.

Take one of the two exists at the station. The Schweglerstreet is in the middle of the two underground exits. After exiting, cross the street and go to the Supermarket Spar, the Entrance to the apartments is just around the corner.

From Train Station Meidling to the Apartments

If you are arriving from the West (Germany/Suisse/Salzburg) by train, you could also leave at the train station Meidling instead of the main train station. There catch the underground Line U6 direction Floridsdorf for 4 stops and change at Westbahnhof to underground line U3 direction Ottakring. After 1 stop exit at the station Schweglerstreet.

Take one of the two exists at the station. The Schweglerstreet is in the middle of the two underground exits. After exiting, cross the street and go to the Supermarket Spar, the Entrance to the apartments is just around the corner.

 

 

 

 

To Vienna by car

When arriving with your own car, please keep in mind, that there is a short-term parking zone regulation on public streets in Vienna. Due to the near distance to the Vienna Stadthalle, further rules apply for Schweglerstraße. For detailed information, please klick here.

To Vienna by bus

Just beside the Vienna International Bus Terminal is the metro station Erdberg. Use metro line U3 direction Ottakring and exit at Schweglerstraße. Cross the street and around the corner of the Spar Supermarket you will see the Green Leisure Apartments.

 

 

To Vienna by bike

coming from the Danube cycle path

Coming from Germany, the Danube Cycle Path leads many cyclists across Austria to Vienna and even to Hungary. Vienna is either the final destination of a long bike tour or an important stopover to explore the Danube metropolis.

To get from the Danube Cycle Path to Green Leisure Apartments turn into the Danube Canal Cycle Path in Nussdorf on the northern outskirts of Vienna and cycle on this to Spittelau. There you can see the well-known waste incineration plant from afar. The facade of which was designed by the world-famous artist Hundertwasser. Here you need to turn into the Gürtel cycle path, which you have to follow until the underground station Burggasse / Stadthalle. There turn right into Hütteldorferstraße, pass by the Winer Stadthalle event location on the right, and after approximatly 300 meters turn left into Schweglerstraße.  After a good 100 meters you will be in front of the Green Leisure Apartments on your right side.

 

Alternative to cycling in the city

To save yourself the rather complicated cycling through Vienna, you can either get on the U6 at the Danube Island or in Spittelau and take it to the Burggasse / Stadthalle station.  From there cycle the Hütteldorferstraße until Schweglerstraße, where you need to turn left. In approx. 100 meters you will see the Green Leisure Apartments House.

Please note that bicycles may only be taken on the underground Monday to Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and then from 6 p.m. On Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, bicycles can be taken on the underground all day long.
